How to Share Files In LAN

Follow these steps the share the file for accessing through LAN.

Sharing Folders

 For sharing the folders, Right Click the folder and select Share with--> Specific People.

A window will appear ask to whom the file to be shared, select the computer name to be

share with or select Everyone to share it with all connected networks.

Sharing Local Disk Drive

For sharing the Local disk drive Right Click on the Local drive and select Share with-->Advanced Sharing.

Click Advanced Sharing in the properties dialog box.

 Advanced sharing Dialog box will appear, click share this folder to share local drive to the networks connected. 

Shared folder will be accessed through other computers in My computer-->Networks

Step 1 : Change IP Address for both the computers you like to connect. A new dialog box will open, in that select Use the following IP address. Enter  the IP address  192.168.1.1 in first system and 192.168.1.2 in the second system. Enter the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 in both the computers.

Step 2 : Go to Control Panel --> Network and Internet--> Network and Sharing Center--> Change Advanced sharing settings. Change the following setting as shown in figure in your Home or public network in both the computers.

Step 3 : Now the Computer Names will be displayed in the My Computer-->Network. You can access the files which is allowed for sharing with other computers.
